Safety First!
Before you go!

• Kit check - make sure you have all the kit you need especially the essentials such as lifejackets, spare fuel, oars, flares... MAKE YOURSELF A CHECK LIST!
• Pre-boat checks - make sure your boat is seaworthy; bungs in , engine works [steering etc].....
• Weather - Check the weather outlook [ it may be fine now but what about later. Check sea conditions, wind, tide.]
• TELL SOMEONE YOUR GOING - [CALL THE COASTGUARD ON CHANNEL 16 VHF RADIO]
• Crew - make sure everyone is warm, safe and comfortable.
